Glamping In Hudson, NY.

I’ve wanted to go glamping from the moment my mother mentioned the concept to me years ago. If you're unfamiliar with the term “glamping” its basically luxury camping for those who want to enjoy nature but still want to sleep comfortably and have a warm shower and WiFi.

I spent the whole summer away from New York, but I knew very well that I had to be back in time for my favorite season, fall. I also knew I wanted to go upstate. There’s something so magical about Upstate New York during the fall when the leaves turn bright orange, and the smell of rain and wood fills the air. I decided to go Glamping because I figured what other way to enjoy nature than to actually be nestled in it? After scrolling through all the glamping sights on Glamping Hub, I decided to go with Collective Retreats. It was not cheap, but I was blown away by their photos and what they had to offer so I went ahead and treated myself to my very first luxury glamping experience.

Collective Retreats has the most warm and friendly staff! They’re super easy to communicate with and they do their absolute best to make sure you enjoy your expedience with them. A night's stay includes this: • A king size bed with deliciously warm and fluffy pillows and even heated blankets! (Whoa) • WiFi + electricity and ample bedside sockets to charge your gadgets • Private bathroom with rain style shower, toilet, and lots of hot water! • Two robes • complimentary breakfast and s’mores kit • Wood burning stove for heat • complimentary homemade granola and tea in tent. Upon our arrival the staff greeted us by helping us with our luggage and taking us to our tent where they broke everything down and gave us some great recommendations! They also mentioned that at sundown there will be a campfire waiting for us by the “base tent” where there will be a s’mores kit and blankets. We dropped off our bags then drove straight to Hudson for dinner (just 15 minutes away). We walked up and down Warren Street admiring the houses and little shops then decided to eat sushi at Wasabi! If you’re in the mood for Japanese, this place hits the spot. When we returned to our tent, a lady named Sheila texted my phone and reminded us of the campfire and s’mores. We were a bit tired from our drive but threw on our sweats and sweaters and walked over to check it out. When we got there, we met Shiela! A bubbly, happy, super friendly, super awesome, staff member that later plopped next to us by the fire and hung out with us for about an hour exchanging stories and laughing. She mentioned that we were currently the only ones at the retreat since we came on a random Thursday and the next day it will be fully booked! Usually during these campfires all the tents gather around it and get to know each other so we were lucky to be able to experience both worlds since we booked our stay for two nights. Our trip to Hudson was very successful and I would recommend it to anyone looking to get away for a day or two! Hudson is a charming little town with a thriving culinary scene, tons of antique shops, vintage boutiques, and beautiful landscapes. Here are some noteworthy places to check out when visiting Hudson, NY. • Love Apple Farm • Grazin Diner • Baba Louie’s pizza • Sideshow clothing co. • Second Show • High falls conservation area for hiking • Gracies luncheonette • Backbar • Lil debs oasis
